JOIN US FOR CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH

Churchill Park United Church/Korean United Church have been hosting a
conversational English program since 2011 and are running the free program again in
fall 2018. We invite anyone learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) who
would like to participate in a casual conversation program to join us to help strengthen
the skills learned in your EAL classes. Although Conversational English is open to
individuals at any level of EAL participation, we believe that having achieved a CLB*
Level 4 or higher is suggested to help you fully benefit from our program.

• Meet and converse with others from varying cultures
• Share your background and traditions with other participants
• Learn about other cultures, traditions and Canadian traditions
• Help shape the program to better meet your needs.

Who: Anyone with a non-English-speaking background with some EAL
participation looking to improve your English skills.

When: Wednesdays,
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Churchill Park United Church/Korean United Church
525 Beresford Ave. (corner of Beresford and Nassau St. South)

In English 204-452-8561 (Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Do you have experience teaching ESL?
We would like to introduce a more basic EAL program for those not enrolled in formal
EAL programs or wanting to strengthen skills from other programs. We have teaching
materials but need a volunteer to lead the program. Ideally you are a retired teacher
and/or have experience teaching EAL/ESL.
